This video is from last week in Charlotte, MI. Crews give this description below and included “Water does push fire”. What do you think.
Attached Garage and House Fire 3/12/2014. This video is from the dash cam of unit 312, a mini pumper with 2 firemen and 250 gallons of water, Charlotte’s first out truck for any incident. The attached garage was fully involved and collapsed just as 312 arrived at the scene, but in 18 secs after stopping had a 1 1/2 inch line in service and directing water into the attic of the house to stop the fire spread. (A clear picture is presented that WATER DOES NOT PUSH FIRE) Soon after a second pumper arrives and crews continue to control the fire and stop fire extension inside the house, the fire on the left side of the garage is left to conserve water until more units arrived. As firefighters our job is to take a risk, which is what we do. Not every firefighter has Book definition PPE at first arrival, but we get the job done as safe as possible.
