Firefighters performing a VES operation.

The Firefighters Support Foundation’s (FSF) newest training program is now available. This training program, featuring a video and a PowerPoint presentation, deals with vent-enter-isolate-search (VEIS) operations at structure fires.

“This VEIS program address the basics of a vent-enter-isolate-search operation,” says FSF President David Kenik. The program consists of a 30-minute video presentation and an accompanying PowerPoint presentation.

Covered topics include:

  • reasons for VEIS operations,
  • the tools needed,
  • operational phases, and
  • techniques to perform each phase safely.

Video of actual VEIS operations occurring are included with commentary. The program is ideal as an introduction to the topic or as an in-service review. The presenter is Engineer Abraham Madrigal of the Hillsboro (OR) Fire Department.

The program is free to all members of public safety and  emergency management agencies.  Simply go towww.ffsupport.org to download your copy.
