FSRI is conducting water mapping experiments this week in Northbrook, IL. Real-time water distribution will be analyzed from interior and exterior streams using an Actual Delivered Density (ADD) apparatus. The ADD apparatus was designed to measure sprinkler flow distribution but we are re-purposing it by building a room and hallway over it to examine where water goes using different nozzles, flows, movements and positions. This data will couple with the air entrainment experiments conducted in October to allow us to better understand interior and exterior streams for the upcoming full-scale house fire experiments in February. Stay tuned for more updates.
