There has been much research and attention recently aimed at better understanding the effects of ventilation on fire behavior. This is especially important to firefighters operating inside an enclosure when the ventilation is occurring. Understanding the effects of ventilation can help to better coordinate operations and avoid hazardous conditions such as flashover. This report studies the results of reduced-scale experiments into the effects of roof opening size on fire development in an enclosure for various fire sizes.
